Professor Kenji Mori
Science University, Tokyo, Japan

Professor Dr. Kenji Mori has been a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Science University in Tokyo, Japan, since 1995. He is also Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo, where he held various positions between 1962 and 1995, including Professor of Organic Chemistry for 17 years.

Prof. Mori's major field of interest is the synthesis of semiochemicals, especially pheromones. He has published nearly 800 papers. Prof. Mori serves on a number of editorial advisory boards, including the editorial boards of J.Chem.Soc., Perkin Trans.1, Tetrahedron, Synthesis, Bioorg.Med.Chem., Nat.Prod.Lett., Nat.Prod.Reports, Flavor & Fragrance J., Chem.Biochem., The Chemical Records, Tetrahedron Lett., Asymmetry, Bioorg.Med.Chem.Letters, and Enantiomer.

Prof. Mori also has received numerous awards, including the 1965 Agricultural Chemistry Award (The Agricultural Chemical Society of Japan); the 1981 Japan Academy Prize (Japan Academy) in the presence of the late His Majesty the Emperor Hirohito; the 1992 Agricultural Societies Prize (Federation of Agricultural Societies, Japan); the 1996 Silver Medal (International Society of Chemical Ecology); the prestigious 1998 Fujiwara Prize (Fujiwara Science Foundation); and the 1999 Ernest Guenther Award in the Chemistry of Natural Products (American Chemical Society).

Prof. Mori holds a B.Sc. in agricultural chemistry, an M.Sc. in biochemistry, and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, all from the University of Tokyo.
