Donald S. Coffey, Ph.D.
Dr. Donald Coffey is an internationally recognized leader in prostate cancer biology and in providing an understanding of the structure of the cellular nucleus. He discovered the nuclear matrix that defines the three-dimensional structure of the nucleus and provides higher order DNA organization. Dr. Coffey quantitated the dynamic changes in tumor cell structure associated with types of cell motility and their regulation and role in metastases. Dr. Coffey is presently a Triple Professor at the John Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he is the Catherine Iola and J. Smith Michael Distinguished Professor of Urology, Professor of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences and Professor of Oncology. Dr. Coffey also served as President of the American Association for Cancer Research.
