Jere Goyan, Ph.D. Dr. Goyan served as Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration from 1979 until 1981 and was Dean of the School of Pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco for 15 years. He is currently President of Goyan and Hart Associates and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SciClone Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Goyan also serves on the Board of Directors of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Emisphere Technologies and PenWest Pharmaceuticals. He was President and Chief Operating Officer of Alteon, Inc. for five years, and served as President of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. Dr. Goyan holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. degree from the School of Pharmacy, University of California, San Francisco.
