Dr. Chien received her B.A. degree from Mount Holyoke College. Following receipt of her Ph.D. in the field of molecular immunology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Chien completed two post-doctoral fellowships in the areas of human genomics and biochemical cellular signal transduction. She obtained her J.D. from University of Denver College of Law and has been practicing biotech patent law since 1992.Presently, Dr. Chien is Executive Director of Intellectual Property and Senior Patent Attorney at Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc. (PPD). For the past year she has been acting Administrative Head of PPD’s genomics facility, in addition to performing legal and technology assessment duties.
